Pylväsvuosta
Teoksen ideoinnin aikana lähestyimme Pylvään kyläläisiä kirjeellä, jolla toivoimme kokoavamme tarinoita kylän historiasta teoksiemme inspiraatioksi. Tarinoiden kertyessä, vanhojen valokuvien, haastattelujen, valmiiden tekstien ja runojen muodossa huomasimme, että niistähän koostuisi eräänlainen paikallishistoriikki. Päätimme koostaa tarinat ja kuvat kirjan muotoon ja teimme ensimmäisen vedoksen valmiiksi veistosten valmistuessa.
Tarinoita täydennellään ja uusia kerätään. Toivomme kirjasta tulevan useampia painoksia vuosien varrella.
Digitaalipaino antaa mahdollisuuden tehdä kirjasta monia versioita, koska yksittäiset kirjat valmistetaan tilauksen yhteydessä, eikä etukäteen suurena painoksena.
In order to gather inspiration from the collective consciousness from the Pylväs village, we asked the locals to recall old stories, and dig out old photographs about the life in the village.
As the catalogue of stories grew, we decided to design them into a book form that the villagers could eventually have to share their collective memories together.
As a production on demand book, new revisions can be easily done, and new knowledge can be integrated to the body of work. We hope the book to become a living part of the Pylväs village, chronicling the evolution of the area.
